Manushi edged among the top five contestants who were from England, France, Kenya and the last but not the least Mexico, followed by 118 participants based from the different parts of the world. And as she was presented the Miss India crown by Stephanie Del Valle, who was the last year’s Miss World winner from Puerto Rico, which was an event organized at a resort in the coastal city of Sanya, Manushi was overcome by her emotion.
In a statement, Manushi said: “The feeling is still sinking in and very excited to make my country India feel very proud. I’m also looking forward to the year ahead. My parents have always been my pillar of support and having them here tonight by my side has only brought me more strength and joy. My final answer also came to me by having them here with me in front of me”.
She also said “Thank you, everyone, for your constant love, support, and prayers. This one’s for India,” she later wrote on her official Twitter handle. Manushi is the sixth Indian who has successfully won the title of Miss India 2017, which was first won by Reita Faria back in year 1966.
Her win brings India at a different level with Venezuela as the countries with most victories in the history of the pageant. Aishwarya Rai had successfully bagged the title of Miss World in the year 1994, followed by Diana Haydon in the year 1997, Yukta Mookhey in the year 1999 and the last but not the least Priyanka who won hers title in the year 2000.
Priyanka meanwhile is busy shooting for her hit ABC show Quantico. She is also working for the two upcoming Hollywood films called A Kid Called Jake and Is it Romantic. Not just Priyanka but we have the other Bollywood actors who also came forward and congratulated Manushi for her success.
