Saaho: Alia Bhatt Was The First Choice Of Makers Opposite Prabhas But She Rejected. Here’s Why

Prabhas has shaken the Indian film industry with his epic performance in the Baahubali series which acquired worldwide fame and created history.

Needless to say, the romantic pair of Anushka Shetty and Prabhas was loved by audiences and that’s why, the makers of “Saaho” wanted to cast Anushka opposite Prabhas in this flick as well. However, her weight became an obstacle and consequently, they were compelled to replace their initial choice for Saaho’s female lead.

Even though they have finalized Shraddha Kapoor now, many of you might be surprised to know that Shraddha was not the primary choice of filmmakers and they were keen on casting Alia Bhatt instead.

Yes, you read it right!

As soon as the makers got to know that Anushka can’t be approached for the film, they desperately wished to rope in Alia. In fact, Karan Johar was also very excited for this amazing collaboration and left no stone unturned in convincing Alia for the venture. What’s more, if Alia agreed, it would have been her debut in the South industry. Nevertheless, taking into account that the role of female lead didn’t have much to do in the movie as compared to Prabhas, Alia rejected “Saaho”.

Here’s what a source disclosed,

“Alia is currently busy setting a league of her own by taking up some really good performance-oriented roles. So at a stage when she’s setting such a bright example as far as her film choices are concerned, she doesn’t want to break the chain by doing a film where she is more like a supporting cast. Even her family approved of her decision and have no regrets whatsoever.”

Quite amazingly, when someone asked Alia about her favorite actor from the South film industry, she answered, “Prabhas”. Not only this, she even mentioned that she would never miss the chance if she got to work with him. But when she was actually approached, she refused the offer.

Let’s see whether we get to see them together on the big screen in future.
