Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the most talented actors of Bollywood. We have seen him playing various roles and he started with very small roles in movies like Munna Bhai MBBS. But now he plays lead characters and he has the ability to play any character with ease and perfection.
Balasaheb Thackeray was one of the most influential and fire brand leader of Indian politics and it is really a very tough task to decide the right actor for playing his character in the biopic.
However, it seems that Nawazuddin has been finalized for playing the role of Balasaheb in the movie based on the life of late Hindu Hriday Samrat Maratha.
The launch event of the movie will take place on December 21, 2017, in Mumbai. The producer of the film is Sanjay Raut and it will be made under the banner of ‘Raut’ers Entertainment, with the blessings of Uddhav Thackeray. The flick will be directed by an MNS leader Abhijeet Panse. Before Nawazuddin, actor Akshay Kumar and Irrfan Khan were also considered for the role of Balasaheb Thackeray but it finally went to Nawaz.
The first clap will be given by the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan at the launch event. In fact, Amitabh’s character in “Sarkar” was also inspired by Bal Thackeray and the first two parts of the series have been huge hits while the third part has bombed on the box office.
A Marathi movie has also been made on the ideologies of Balasaheb titled Balkadu which was released in 2015 and it was again Sanjay Raut who played an important part in making of the film.
Earlier also a movie on the life of Bal Thackeray was announced in 2015 by Smita Thackeray, the daughter-in-law of Balasaheb and it was set to be directed by Smita’s son Rahul Thackeray but the project was stalled as Uddhav was not happy with it. Rahul had experience of filmmaking as he had assisted Rajkumar Hirani during the shooting of “PK”.
It will be interesting to see how Nawazuddin plays the character of Balasaheb. We are waiting for the movie, are you?
