Yusuf Pathan Suspended for 5 Months by BCCI. Read Here to know why

Yusuf Pathan today gets suspended by the BCCI, on the charges of doping violation. He was today handed a five month ban.

After all that happened a statement was released by them that said, “Yusuf inadvertently ingested a prohibited substance, which can be commonly found in cough syrups.” The suspension has been backdated from 15th August 2017, which means that his ban would be getting over on the 18th Jan 2018.

The BCCI to this also said that, “Pathan had provided a urine sample as part of the BCCI’s anti-doping testing program during a domestic T20 competition on 16 March 2017 in New Delhi. His sample was subsequently tested and found to contain Terbutaline. Terbutaline, a specified substance, is prohibited both In & Out of Competition in the WADA Prohibited List of Substances.”

Pathan to this then gave a positive response saying, that he was given a medicine by mistake, that contained Tebutaline in it instead of some other medication. He also thanked the BCCI for allowing him to plead his case in a fair manner.

And this is how twitter turned out to react to his ban.

Great that BCCI accepted that the medication was consumed inadvertently by him. We look forward to a good performance in IPL.
